My sister's name was Theodora, named after my dad, Theodore, but everyone called her Tedi-Girl. She passed away in the mid 1990's and I still think about her often. She had a severe case of rheumatoid arthritis, which really diminished her quality of life for years. Even though she could barely hold a piece of silverware, or a pen to write her name, she was determined to be creative with her hands despite her physical challenges.
Tedi-Girl's mother-in-law was an artist and instrumental in helping Tedi find a medium that she could work with. The result are these beautiful OOAK pieces. Tedi-Girl became a Duncan Master Ceramist and her original jewelry creations were entered in juried art shows and sold throughout Florida and Las Vegas in the 1980's.
Until recently these pieces have been locked away in a trunk. The time has come to make these OOAK creations available to others to enjoy and wear in the years to come.
50 Shades of Copper make these set shimmer and shine. The black silk cording makes the perfect connection of each hand made bead leading your eyes down to the piece de resistance at the end of the delicate silk cords. The freeform medallion seems to move in the wind like a piece of silky fabric. The shimmery glaze changes colors when light bounces off of it.
The triangular earrings compliment the free form shape.
Signed by the artist and created in the 1980's this piece would be a great addition to any fine jewelry box.
